OPEN POSITIONS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) // Reports to: Board of Directors // Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive and strategic leader of Femme House, responsible for advancing the mission through vision, fundraising, operations, and partnerships. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED ensures organizational sustainability by overseeing day-to-day operations, managing a distributed team of 5+ part-time staff, and cultivating strong relationships across the music and nonprofit sectors. This is a remote leadership position requiring high levels of independence, collaboration, and proven success managing distributed teams and virtual programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Leadership
Develops and executes Femme House’s strategic vision and multi-year plan, ensuring alignment with the mission and values.
Optimizes organizational structure, staffing, and resource allocation to maximize mission impact.
Advises and partners with the Board to ensure alignment between governance, fundraising, and strategic priorities.
2. Fundraising & Resource Development
Expands and executes a comprehensive fundraising strategy encompassing grants, major donors, sponsorships, and digital campaigns.
Cultivates new relationships with high net worth donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and partner organizations.
3. Financial & Operational Management
Oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Ensures strong financial controls, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with nonprofit regulations.
Leads remote operations, including HR, contracts, technology systems, and vendor relationships.
4. Board Governance
Serves as the primary liaison between staff and the Board of Directors.
Provides clear, timely reporting on financials, operations, and strategic progress.
Supports Board recruitment, engagement, and fundraising participation, ensuring members are active ambassadors of Femme House.
5. Program Oversight & Community Development
Collaborates effectively to execute Femme House programs and initiatives.
Elevates community engagement as the heart of the organization’s identity and programming.
Uses data and community feedback to evaluate outcomes and guide improvements.
6. Communications & Brand Leadership
Serves as the public face and chief spokesperson for Femme House.
Partners with LP Giobbi and key stakeholders to expand Femme House’s visibility and influence in the music and creative industries.
Drives brand visibility and thought leadership through media, events, and partnerships.
Oversees all communications, ensuring consistent, inspiring storytelling across digital platforms and campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit management, music, or creative industries.
Proven success as a fundraiser and relationship-builder (grants, sponsorships, individual giving).
Demonstrated ability to grow and diversify revenue in a mission-driven organization
Strong financial management and operational oversight experience.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience leading remote or distributed teams.
Deep commitment to equity and inclusion of all types (with a passion for gender parity), and Femme House’s mission.
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort leading in a lean, high-growth environment.
Preferred:
Background in the music, arts, or entertainment industries.
Experience scaling a nonprofit or startup organization.
Familiarity with CRM, donor management, and project management tools (e.g., Airtable, Asana, Monday.com).
Proven success in developing partnerships with major brands or entertainment companies.
COMPENSATION + BENEFITS
$60,000 – $90,000 plus annual bonus eligibility, commensurate with experience
